Why NSW businesses hire an offshore data analyst
A colleague on your hours, at a fraction of the cost.
- Strong SQL and BI tool skills at 40–50% of local analyst cost
- Analytics work is entirely remote — no office presence required
- Freed analytical capacity lets your local team focus on decisions, not reporting
- NSW businesses save 60–70% hiring an offshore Data Analyst compared to the Sydney market rate of A$75,000–A$100,000 annually
Working hours overlap
Your day is their day shift.
Sydney (AEST)9:00am
Manila (PHT)7:00am
Manila is 2 hours behind Sydney (3 in daylight saving), so your business day is a normal day shift for them.
Can they build Power BI or Tableau dashboards?
Yes. Dashboard development in Power BI, Tableau, and Looker is a core deliverable. They connect to your data sources and build to your reporting requirements.
Do they write SQL?
Yes. Advanced SQL — complex joins, window functions, CTEs — is expected. BigQuery, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL are commonly used.
Can they work with Python for data processing?
Yes. Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib for data wrangling and visualisation are within scope for senior analysts.
Do they handle data modelling?
Yes. Dimensional modelling, dbt transformations, and warehouse schema design are within scope for mid to senior analysts.
Can they interpret data for non-technical stakeholders?
Strong communication skills are screened for during hiring. Analysts are expected to present findings clearly in executive summaries and slide decks.
